How to Use a DSLR

Photomom101 is made up of a bunch of short lessons on specific topics.  If you haven't been around since the beginning, it may be confusing to figure out where to start.  Many of the lessons build on instruction and information in previous posts.  So if you are new to Photomom101 (or just want an organized refresher course) here is a list of posts explaining how to control your DSLR in an order that will make sense.

Note that this list will be regularly updated as more relevant posts are added.

Exposure (Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO)
Exposure - Advanced Topics

Photomoms, I know there are holes in this "course."  Tell me what you think is missing so I can address things that are relevant to you.  Let me know in the comments.

I think you're doing a great job - it's good info and a great review. I was thinking a post on organizing/storing photos would be nice.
It's all fabulous. It may be a little early, but I'd still like a beginners starting point settings for a few different circumstances. Like, if you're going outisde to take pictures of your kids playing outside, first set your camera to --- mode, start with ISO at ---, etc. If it comes out blurry, first change --- , and so on. I realize that's it's hard to say b/c of the different variables, but just a starting point for practicing now that we are understanding the trinity, how the camera works and how to use it. (Do the beach first since I'm going there next month- ha.)

I am a "photo uncle", but I find your "courses" useful. Please accept my criticism as constructive... That is how it is meant.

One thing that I would suggest, for those topics that include a video clip... Also include a write-up.
